Regional Science and Technological Innovation
Industry plays a significant role in the health of rural and regional Victorian communities. In recent years, changes to the environmental and economic structures of regional areas have transformed agriculture and undermined manufacturing, with flow on effects across a wide range of industries.
The negative impacts of these changes can have a significant impact on the livelihoods of those who rely on those industries for employment, thereby altering the fabric of regional communities.
In projects addressing Element 1 – Regional Science and Technology Innovation, the CRN aims to revitalise industry in regional Victoria by using optimisation, informatics, systems modeling and technological innovation to improve regional manufacturing and production systems.
